UH soccer completes winless conference season
With a 2-0 loss to UC Irvine on senior night, the Hawaii soccer team completed its woeful season by dropping all eight of its Big West games.
UH (3-14-1 overall) set a program record by losing eight straight in a single season.
The Rainbow Wahine held the Anteaters (7-10-1, 3-4) scoreless for 83 minutes, but Kiana Palacios got loose for a breakaway counterattack goal past Erica Young.
Palacios then scored on a header in the 88th minute to clinch the victory.
It was only the second time in program history UH failed to record a win or a draw in conference play. The only other instance was 1997, when the Wahine went 0-5 in the WAC.
Both teams were out of contention for the Big West tournament heading into the game.
