ENGLEWOOD, Colo. » The Denver Broncos have acquired tight end Vernon Davis from the San Francisco 49ers for three late-round draft picks.

"We’ve agreed to trade for two-time Pro Bowl TE Vernon Davis from SF," Broncos GM John Elway tweeted. "He’ll be a valuable addition to our team w/his experience & leadership."

The 49ers will get sixth- and seventh-round picks next year and a sixth-round pick in 2017.

The Broncos (7-0) are coming off their biggest win of the year, a 29-10 dismantling of previously unbeaten Green Bay in which tight ends Owen Daniels and Virgil Green combined for a season-best 105 yards receiving.

Before that, they’d managed just 123 yards as they had to mostly stay in and help a battered O-line protect Peyton Manning.
