Waialua woman arrested for allegedly assaulting officer

A 22-year-old Waialua woman is in police custody for allegedly attacking and injuring a police officer at the Queen’s Medical Center where she had been taken for treatment Tuesday.

Police said the suspect was in custody after being arrested for trespassing, a petty misdemeanor, at Mililani Shopping Center Tuesday when she allegedly assaulted a 37-year-old female police officer. The officer was treated and released following the 1 p.m. incident.

The suspect now faces an additional charge of first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer.
