Caldwell heading to D.C. for conference

Mayor Kirk Caldwell is scheduled to leave tonight to attend the United States Conference of Mayors annual winter meeting in Washington, D.C. and to meet with federal officials on homelessness and the Honolulu rail project.

Caldwell is the U.S. Conference of Mayors vice chair for trade and international travel. He is also scheduled to meet with top officials from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on Thursday to discuss homelessness and housing.

Caldwell is scheduled to return on Saturday.

    I can’t wait till the next mayoral election, even though I know there is no guarantee that the next one will be any better. For all of you that voted for this one, I hope you are happy and got what you wanted.

    He’ll just be focused on the record breaking tourist attendance, and nothing else. Not a peep of the homeless situation, nor of our failing infrastructure and roads.

    Why can’t the SA give us advanced notice? I could have given him a Primo beer aloha shirt that he could have given to Takai when he sees him on this trip.

    He’s not coming back is he? One way trip right? I mean after all, no one would really miss him. City is in enough trouble when he is here, can’t be any worse when he is gone.

    Caldwell 5% track record in getting the homeless off the streets. Haha, real dumb. How many times I gotta tell you, ATTORNEYS CAN’T BUILD HOUSES!! THEIR LAWYERS!!
