Purse snatcher knocks over, drags woman in failed robbery on Big Isle
A robber knocked a 79-year-old woman to the ground and dragged her in a purse-snatching attempt on Banyan Drive in Hilo Wednesday night, Hawaii County police said.
Police said the woman was walking up the entrance ramp to a hotel when a man pulled on her purse, causing her to fall to the ground at about 8 p.m. The woman hung on to her purse and yelled for help as the man dragged her by her purse.
The suspect fled south on foot without the purse, police said.

Let go of the handbag, lady. There is nothing in there that is of value. My wife keeps the valuables in a fanny bag around her waist. Only got junk, like make up in the purse.
Banyan Dr. is not the place to be after dark by yourself.
