Kauai police arrest 2 men, seize methamphetamine valued at $1.6M
Kauai police arrested two men Tuesday and recovered methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $1.6 million.
Police found more than seven pounds of methamphetamine during a search of a Hanamaulu home Tuesday morning, Kauai County officials said in a news release. Officers also recovered other illegal drugs, about $2,000 in cash and a stolen handgun.
In the news release, Police Chief Darryl Perry said the amount of methamphetamine is the largest amount seized by the Kauai Police Department in a “single incident.”
Two men, a 24-year-old Hanamaulu man and a 28-year-old California man, lived in the home. Officers arrested them on suspicion of three counts of first-degree methamphetamine trafficking and other drug-related offenses, theft and altering serial numbers on the handgun.
The search of the home was conducted as part of an ongoing drug investigation, police said.

Californian involved. Gee, imagine that.
Good work Chief Perry and KPD!!!
You guys are the best!
7 pounds of meth is worth $1.6 million?? Shatz, no wonder a legislator, ex State attorney general, kim chee maker and so many other Hawaii connected insiders what to be exclusive local weed growers and distributors.
On Kauai that amount is considered personal use.
Millennials in meth distribution. Very scary, but many legits may have started this way to obtain seed money. Only problem is it is almost impossible to quit. These individuals have no future except dark clouds hanging over them if they live long enough?
