Alex O’Loughlin who plays Steve McGarrett signs autographs for the crowd during the 6th Annual Sunset on the Beach preseason premier of Hawaii Five-O’s series in Waikiki.

“Hawaii Five-0” will return for a seventh season this fall, according to CBS, which announced the renewal this morning.

The show is wrapping up its current season and will hold a cast party next week.

“Five-0” will air its final episodes of the current, 25-episode season, with a two-hour finale May 13.

The reboot of “Hawaii Five-0” started in September 2010.

The original series, starring Jack Lord as Steve McGarrett, ran for 12 seasons from 1968 until 1980.

Hopefully, they will get some new Script Writers! The shows have become Boring and too Predictable…Maybe hire from Shades of Blue(?)..

agree..but who watches TV series like these anymore. TV as it once existed is moribund.

      • FARKWARD says:

True! But, I record these shows (mostly NatGeo, Travel/Discovery, and Foods) and use them as a good way to fall asleep–early in morning, when I’m done working (multiple Time Zones) with a “fried-brain”. Yes, I use this venue to release all those pent-up emotions gathered throughout the day… (“Social Media” (Really?))

      • aomohoa says:

Evidently enough people watch it, that it is being renewed. Maybe you could get a job with them instead of that low class job you have. I am sure you are good looking enough, according to you.

    • krusha says:

This show pretty much has been CSI Hawaii without that name…

I am so excited. Can’t wait to watch another season of Hawaii 5-0.

  3. Nesmith says:

Really? I guessed a 5 year season at most.

  4. teresakapalana says:

Very happy to hear this good news!!!!!!!

  5. shortgeek says:

I personally haven’t watched it lately since I’ve been watching Agents of SHIELD, The Flash, and Supergirl (I guess I love superheros) but I wish them luck, and I hope they won’t run it into the ground.

  6. LKK56 says:

The only reason they are getting renewed is because of the ratings – very basic. Nice to know I am not the only one watching the show.

  7. lokela says:

Great for Hawaii. I don’t mind watching the show. Content has been improved as the series is progressing.

Good 1 hour entertainment on a Friday night! Beats sitting in traffic on McCully St waiting for the lights to turn green 3 times at every intersection to get into Waikiki.

I wish we had a real 5-O that could do what they do. Skinny women with nice legs beating down on mokes and all. Like it when they can use persuasion to make the bad guys spill the beans and they work without all the judicial garbage that our real cops have to live by. Reality is “Bookem and realeasem Danno.”

  9. den says:

get rid of Scott Caan and Grace Park because neither of them
    wants to be here.

This upcoming season may be the last for the series but they have had a good run and have had a long enough run to go into syndication.
Personally, I have never watched the show other than for bits and pieces here and there because I prefer the original five-0.
I thought that the new series was a mistake in that they did not create new characters and instead went with the same cast of characters, albeit, new actors.
The original was very high quality and a lot of great actors were featured over the life of the series. The new one just was not the same in my view.

  11. Ewaduffer says:

We watch the old 5-0 and new one for the scenery. Its fun to try to figure out exactly where the scenes are being filmed at and look for anyone we know in the background.

  12. Mike174 says:

    Yea, keep #8.
