The Kailua-bound lanes of the Pali Highway will be closed between Waokanaka Street and Kamehameha Highway Saturday night for routine tunnel maintenance and cleaning.

The closure will occur from 7 p.m. Saturday night through 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, the Department of Transportation said.

Electronic message boards have been posted to inform motorists of the closure. Emergency vehicles and TheBus have been notified and will be escorted through the work site.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes such as the H-3 freeway, Likelike Highway and Kalanianaole Highway.
