The U.S. Coast Guard rescued three men who wrote “help” with palm leaves after their boat capsized near Micronesia and left them stranded on a nearby island on Thursday.

Their 19-foot skiff capsized from a large wave after setting out to sea from the Pulap Atoll on April 4. The men spent the night swimming until they arrived at Fandadik Island, approximately four nautical miles from Pulap, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

A maritime surveillance aircraft discovered the men waving life jackets and stood next to the big “help” sign.

A small boat from Pulap recovered the men with no injuries reported.
