Sex trafficker gets 30 years for operating prostitution ring
BOSTON >> A federal court judge handed down a 30-year prison sentence to a man investigators say operated one of the most violent sex trafficking rings in Boston in the last decade.
Twenty-eight year old Raymond Jeffries was sentenced Thursday in Boston. Authorities say he ran a large-scale sex trafficking ring that forced teens and young women into prostitution through intimidation and preying on their vulnerabilities.
Authorities say at least 20 women — some teenagers — were forced into prostitution by Jeffries in a number of states from 2006 until May 2014.
Prosecutors say Jeffries also pleaded guilty to charges that he ordered a hit on a partner that he believed was cooperating with authorities. The victim survived.
Jeffries also has been ordered to undergo sex offender counseling.

I don’t get it. Why pay for counseling if he’s going to prison for 30 years???
He will certainly receive counseling in prison from many fellow inmates plus state hired experts.

They are doing things by the book. But let us now get tough with trafficking in Hawaii. And also get tough with Meth out here. Sloppy, lazy, inept judges out here allow those two plagues on society to exist without much interruption.
I thought the same thing. Like this guy will be affected by sex offender counseling? He ordered a hit on his partner, and this sex ring was one of the most violent in Boston in the last decade! I think the best therapy he’ll get will be from his “colleagues” in prison who will teach him their own brand of prostitution – and he won’t get paid any money for it.

The article indicate the accused as operating a “most violent sex trafficking ring”. Wondering what he will be charge with and whether his crime is non-violent thereby qualifying him for early release consistent this Administration’s policy should he be convicted and sentenced?
