Man accuses victim of being a Taliban member before robbery, beating
A 25-year-old man called another man a “Taliban” before severely beating and robbing him Saturday in the Keeaumoku Street area, police said.
Alvin Ponce, who has no local address, was charged over the weekend with second-degree robbery. He remained at the Oahu Community Correctional Center on Monday with a $50,000 bail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in District Court on Wednesday.
The victim told police Ponce walked up to him about 1 a.m. Saturday asked if he were “Taliban,” to which the victim replied no, a police affidavit filed in District Court says. Ponce allegedly shoved the victim down and yelled, “give me all your money.”
He kicked the victim in the face multiple times with steel-toed boots and punched him in the face, police said.
Police responded and arrested Ponce on Kapiolani Boulevard near Kona Iki Street. After his arrest, Ponce told officers that he “licked that f——— Taliban” and “he got what he deserved,” the document says.
Ponce allegedly told an officer that he would kill the victim next time, hurling homosexual slurs at him.

WHy are we getting so many nuts here with “no local address.?” We need to get them off our Islands.
Yeah, it is so easy, no further research is necessary, and possibly to protect the local’s family identity?
Another crime where the SA are being politically correct saying the perpetrator has no local address. He beat a person and the SA doesn’t want to hurt the beaters feelings not saying he’s homeless. Stop protecting the homeless and tell us like it is!
Didn’t call him Islamophobic either. Not sre whether that fits your narrative. Tell it like it is, SA! Hope he’s not registered to vote.
