A 48-year-old man allegedly stole another man’s property today after claiming to be a police officer in Waikiki, police said.

The suspect, of no local address, walked up to the 31-year-old victim in a parked vehicle at about 5 a.m. and told him to get out , police said.

The suspect allegedly went into the victim’s vehicle and took the man’s backpack without permission.

Police responded and arrested the suspect at Ala Wai Boulevard and Lipeepee Street for investigation of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and second-degree impersonating a law enforcement officer.
