Maybe now the Genki Sushi logo will smile

If anyone doubts the value of good customer relations, there’s a lesson to be learned in the experience at Genki Sushi.

Various businesses have been dealing with the hepatitis-A outbreak, but the sushi chain took the most high-profile blow. It was an infection in its shipment of frozen scallops that was at the center of the current crisis. But its fans, or at least a fair percentage of them, came back once the restaurants reopened for business.

They’ll know Genki’s recovery is complete when the lines grow longer again, but for now, a shorter wait is their reward for loyalty.

Kauai, Oahu police take on domestic violence

Prevention is key, so it’s good to know that Honolulu and Kauai police are being proactive during domestic violence investigations.

Both departments have launched the Lethality Assessment Program, an 11-question domestic violence screening tool to help prevent murders and get immediate help for victims at risk of being killed. It features a 24-hour hotline, which police access if the victim answers particular questions or a certain number of them in the affirmative. It connects victims to a domestic violence advocate, who lets them know they are not alone — and that could mean the difference between life and death.

HPD used to work with Social Workers that formed DART, the Domestic Abuse Response Team that responded to domestic calls and worked with victims of domestic violence first hand and provided support and resources for them instantly at the scene. All the law makers talk and talk but always don’t back it up with funding….they all have very short memories…. blah blah blah…same old same old…

I’ve always wondered why Genki’s logo is a frowning face. I thought, why would anyone go to a business with a grouch staring at them? 🙂

Maybe now it won’t be a jaundiced yellow!

Whoever designed the Genki logo sure could foretell the future.
