Washington bishop calls for unity after pro-Trump vandalism
Silver Spring, Md. » The head of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington is calling on President-elect Donald Trump and his supporters “to separate themselves from acts of violence and hate” after a church in a Maryland suburb with a strong Latino population was vandalized with a racist message that mentions Trump.
Church officials say a banner advertising the Spanish-language service at the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour in Silver Spring was slashed Saturday night and the words “Trump nation. Whites only” were written on the back. The same phrase was written on a brick wall in the memorial garden of the parish.
Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde (BUD-ee) called for unity following Sunday services. She says she doesn’t want immigrants and people of color “to imagine that this is who we are as a nation.”

Gee, when I read the headline I figured Washington “bishop” just naturally meant DC’s “Catholic bishop” (Cardinal Wuerl). How ironic, I thought, that some Drumpf supporter would turn against DC’s Catholic establishment, one of the most conservative constituencies in the DC region.
Well, fool me once … of course Episcopalians also have bishops — Methodists do too, for that matter.
But of course it’s perfectly natural for a Trump supporter to conflate the two and not care about the difference. Back in the day, he brownshirts never bothered to make those kinds of picayune distinctions either.
Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde couldn’t care less about the vandalism caused by Hillary’s gang of thieves.
SA, you should also cover the news of the racist graffiti Hillary and Obama’ gang has been tagging recently, you are impartial right?
The losing sides in the election should speak up, not a word from the democrats. Totally deplorable, their silence means that they are willing to watch our country crumble by these deplorable democrats. The world is laughing at America and the democracy that we will fight wars to conduct fair elections. Anyone remember the proud elections held in Iraq, and their purple stained thumbs to show they voted ?
What is deployable are you republicans who are afraid of freedom and democracy. From Greg Palast:

Starting in 2013 – just as the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act – a coterie of Trump operatives, under the direction of Kris Kobach, Kansas Secretary of State, created a system to purge 1.1 million Americans of color from the voter rolls of GOP–controlled states.
The system, called Crosscheck, is detailed in my Rolling Stone report,
“The GOP’s Stealth War on Voters,” 8/24/2016.
Crosscheck in action:
Trump victory margin in Michigan: 13,107
Michigan Crosscheck purge list: 449,922
Trump victory margin in Arizona: 85,257
Arizona Crosscheck purge list: 270,824
Trump victory margin in North Carolina: 177,008
North Carolina Crosscheck purge list: 589,393
Would the Donald have still won if all of these people were allowed to vote? Come on Republicans, stop restricting voting. I will always oppose republicans due to their hatred of their fellow citizens. But it was Obama who caused division? Get real. There are riots and civil commotion because people realize that republicans rigged the system again.
Wouldn’t be so bad if republicans stood for something positive. But they don’t. They just stand for power and welfare for the rich.
It’s not their imagination – this is who we currently are as a nation.
Probably done by Democrats.
