Lanikai street parking banned over holiday weekend

Parked cars and beachgoers were seen along Kaelepulu Drive near Lanikai in December 2014 in Kailua. Parking will be banned on all Lanikai streets during the President’s Day weekend.

Parking will be banned on all Lanikai streets during the President’s Day weekend.

The ban will affect Lanikai streets and shoulders from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, according to the city.

No left turn signs will be placed at the intersection of S. Kalaheo Avenue and Kailua Road near Kalapawai Market.

People wishing to go to Lanikai Beach or the Lanikai Pillboxes Trail should walk, bike, take TheBus Route 70 Lanikai or get dropped off in the area.

    Must be nice to have so much money you can buy the politicians to create laws so you can make it difficult for the public to access public places.
