A man prayed during a rally in New York’s Times Square.

NEW YORK >> More than a thousand people of various faiths rallied in New York City in support of Muslim Americans and to protest President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.

The “I Am A Muslim Too” rally was held in Times Square today and was organized by several groups, including the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding.

The protesters waved American flags, held signs saying “No Muslim Ban,” and chanted “We are One.”

Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio spoke at the peaceful rally, saying “we have to dispel the stereotypes” and that America is “a country founded to protect all faiths and all beliefs.”

Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons headlined the rally. He said the Muslim community was being used as a scapegoat, but that “diversity will prevail.”

Trump has initiated a crackdown on illegal immigration. He has also called for a temporary ban on people entering the U.S. from seven Muslim-majority countries

where were these democrat brown shirt hypocrites when it was bill clinton’s idea to secure america’s borders against illegal aliens, arrest and deport criminal aliens, and to prevent illegal aliens from draining america’s social and welfare resources?

where were these democrat brown shirt hypocrites when hilary clinton proclaimed she was always adamantly opposed to illegal immigration and voted numerous times to build a wall to secure america’s borders and that she would send illegal alien children back to their country of origin?

sadly, democrat brown shirts who spam this forum resort to projecting their psychotic/neurotic disorders, their racist hate and homophobic fears onto trump in an effort to validate themselves.

looks likes most americans agree with trump on illegal immigration and a muslim ban on seven countries that don’t have a stable government where we can check there backgrounds of the muslims that want to enter this country, so only a little over a thousand protested and the AP makes this like its big news which it is not, and the SA follows suit.

    • klastri says:

Most Americans, don’t no. Why do you make up things like this? You’re obviously lying.

Trump’s approval rating on his Muslim ban was in the 30% range. 30 is less than 50. So that means not most.

      You’re welcome.

  3. SteveToo says:

87 % OF THE WORLDS MUSLIMS CAN STILL ENTER THE COUNTRY AND THESE IDIOTS ARE OUT THERE PROTESTING. GO FIGURE.

    • klastri says:

Despite using all caps to emphasize your point, you don’t understand what the Muslim ban did. It exempted Christians, which is what Osama Bin Laden was hoping a cowardly head of state would do. Mr. Trump is a coward who is worshiped by other cowards. It’s a disgrace.

The Muslim ban also prevented Muslim green card holders from re-entering the United States. It was one of the most badly botched rollouts of a plan that has even happened in this country. Mr. Trump is proving himself unable to govern.

Actually I think what it did was to give priority to members of religious minorities who were being persecuted. This would have also included the Yazidi and Jews as well as Christians. Many of the Iranians here are of the Baha’i faith who I assume would also fit.

It’s been a while since I read the Koran but I recall that it teaches that when you take over an area the people of the book can avoid being killed when they don’t convert as long as they pay a special tax. These are Jews and Christians. The rest convert or get killed.

I responded to Dulles Airport with a group of other lawyers when this happened. People who said they were Christian (so much for extreme vetting – the traveler just needed to say “I’m a Christian”) got a pass into the country. That was Trump’s plan. No one at the airports had any idea how to enforce the Muslim ban. It was all guess work with no forward planning or explanations. No one could even make up something more ridiculous.

I was illegally kept from seeing clients who were green card holders that were placed in custody. I’ve been doing this a long time and never experienced anything, anywhere, less competent.

Trump is proving to the world that he’s unable to govern.

wow that picture above I thought the guy was getting ready to lick the ground.

  5. saywhatyouthink says:

They’re surprised Trump is doing pretty much exactly what he said he would do if he got elected?
They should have expected it, Trump supporters did.

  6. sandi2000 says:

One more time….this is NOT a Muslim ban. The seven countries were named by the Obama admin as possibly harboring terrorist. These countries only represent 13% of Muslims worldwide. The other 87% are not affected. The bias media is doing a good job dividing this country including the SA.

    • klastri says:

Christians from those countries were essentially exempt.

Mr. Guiliani explained that he was asked by Mr. Trump to craft the wording of a Muslim ban. Mr. Trump campaigned on a Muslim ban.

Two different federal courts – who both understand the Constitution and law much, much better than you do – found it’s a Muslim ban.

It’s a Muslim ban. Your opinion doesn’t count.

      • sandi2000 says:

Klastri, my opinion counts just as much as yours does. The 9th circuit court of appeals is the most liberal court in the country. I know it, you know it and the court knows it. The opinion of the court was expected. It’s called legislation from the bench. Many of the US courts are very political…..the supreme court is a good example.

        • klastri says:

Oh good grief. Can you really think like this?

All federal courts are political. Federal judges are appointed by the President. WOW!

Explain your conclusion that the Ninth Circuit “is the most liberal court in the country?” How are the judges there making mistakes in law?

          This should be very entertaining!

        • sandi2000 says:

klastri, thanks for partly agreeing with me about the courts. It’s not that they are wrong in their decisions; it’s about advocating the ideals of various factions, e.g., the political parties among others. The 9th circuit court is composed of liberal judges from the west coast. No, they’re not bad judges; they just have an agenda and are willing to implement it. Again, legislation from the bench.

        • klastri says:

sandi2000 – Since I actually practice before the 9th Circuit, I know what you wrote isn’t true. But the fact is that you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about regarding the decisions handed down by the Circuit, so of course, you presented no evidence. Because there isn’t any.

Which of the judges in the 9th Circuit, in which cases, have ever written “advocating the ideals of various factions, e.g., the political parties among others?” You made that up out of thin air.
