Man, 76, arrested in Honolulu on suspicion of attempted murder

A 76-year-old man was arrested in Honolulu early today on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly assaulted a 41-year-old man, police said.

The suspect was arrested just after midnight on Victoria Street after allegedly assaulting the victim with a dangerous instrument, according to police. An investigation is pending.

Emergency Medical Services personnel administered life-saving treatment on the suspect, who apparently was stabbed four times in the upper body and arm, a spokeswoman said. The victim was transported in serious condition to the hospital.
