Shark sighting closes Hanalei Beach

Lifeguards reported a shark between 6 and 8 feet long was spotted at about 3 p.m. today.
Kauai Ocean Safety Bureau officials closed Hanalei Beach due to a shark sighting this afternoon.
Lifeguards reported a shark between 6 and 8 feet long was spotted at about 3 p.m. today.
Ocean Safety officials advise no swimming until further notice. Signs were posted to warn beachgoers of the possible danger.
Lifeguards will reassess the situation Tuesday morning to determine whether to reopen the beach.
