Several recent letters to the editor suggest that allowing priests to marry will solve the problem of sexual abuse of children within the Catholic Church.
That also suggests that the natural sexual desire of normal straight and gay men, if denied of a sexual outlet, will revert to the molestation of children.
This is shallow, simplistic thinking at its worst. These men accused of molesting children are not normal men with normal desires; they are deviant sexual predators. You can get them all the spouses they can handle, they will still prefer children.
The sad truth is that deviant molesters will gravitate to wherever children gather.
