Congratulations to Waipahu and Roosevelt high schools for their achievements in winning their respective D1 and D2 Oahu Interscholastic Association football championships recently. These teams played with outstanding effort and determination that enabled them to victory over their formidable opponents. Great performance and good luck at the State Football Championships.
And special acknowledgement to Waipahu High School for its outstanding school pride and spirit. In the pregame activity, the players and school’s fans sang out their alma mater with thunderous confidence and clarity, which caused everyone to stop and take notice.
I could feel the “chicken skin” listening to their singing. In fact, the audience singing in participation reminded me how it used to be in the old days at the Termite Palace.
I haven’t heard any of the fans singing out like this and would wish for all Hawaii to be inspired to follow Waipahu High’s spirit.
Right on, Marauders!
