I recently returned from an 11-day trip to Morocco. One thing I did not see during the entire trip — a plastic bag. There were plenty of plastic water bottles, but I did not see plastic straws, Styrofoam food containers or plastic utensils. The sand dunes in the Sahara Desert were pristine, unlike our beaches.
Morocco has had a ban on plastic bags in place for two years. It used to be the second- largest consumer of plastic bags after the United States.
