Regarding Jim Pollock’s letter, “NYPD schools HPD in handling accident” (Star-Advertiser, Nov. 24), saying a similar collision in Honolulu would take five or six hours to clear: The Honolulu Police Department’s Vehicle Homicide Section investigates fatalities to the best of its abilities. The department has upgraded equipment and deve- loped protocols and training to expedite investigations while doing a complete, professional job.
It has not taken that long to clear recent collisions. Maybe NYPD is not as complete, thorough and professional as HPD.
