It is sad that Saint Francis School is closing (“Financial woes lead to decision to close Saint Francis School,” Star-Advertiser, Feb. 15).
Maybe we can make the best of a sad situation by having the state Department of Education or the University of Hawaii buy the Saint Francis property and relocate the University Laboratory School.
The existing Lab School property can be used for future expansion of the university or additional classroom space. It seems to be such a simple thought, but let’s see how the politicians and the DOE bureaucracy handle this one.
