The Transportation Security Administration is advising travelers to arrive at Kahului Airport early since inoperable x-ray equipment has caused unanticipated screening delays.

TSA is working to make repairs, but in the meantime is advising travelers to arrive at Kahului Airport for screening at least two hours before their flights. TSA also is cautioning passengers that security checkpoints will be busiest during evening hours.

Travelers may assist in expediting screening by being familiar with what’s allowed in carry-on luggage and considering checking luggage to reduce the number of items that need screening. A list of items that are allowed is available on TSA’s website or passengers can download the “MyTSA” app for on-the-go travel advice.
