Sunset on the Beach, the popular summer series that includes the screening of family-friendly movies on a 30-foot-wide screen outdoors at Queen’s Surf Beach in Waikiki, will return on May 11, the Hawaii Tourism Authority announced Wednesday.

This year’s Sunset on the Beach, which runs from May through September, is presented by Southwest Airlines, in partnership with Hawaii’s tourism industry and support from the Waikiki Improvement Association and the City and County of Honolulu.

“We’re excited to have Sunset on the Beach return for residents to enjoy,” said Chris Tatum, president and CEO of the Hawaii Tourism Authority in a news release. “This event has been very popular since its inception with locals, and particularly families, who come to Waikiki to enjoy the beach and the ocean during the day, then stay into the night for festivities. We anticipate a great turnout this summer.”

Sunset on the Beach events start at 4:30 p.m. with a mix of games for all ages and a diverse mix of food vendors, while live Hawaiian entertainment begins at 5 p.m. The evening culminates with the screening of a hit movie on the 30-foot-wide screen as the sun goes down around 7 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.

“We are very proud to be a sponsor of Sunset on the Beach, and hope the kamaaina and visitors enjoy the experience,” said Bill Tierney, managing director of marketing for Southwest Airlines in a news release. “This partnership allows us to support the local islands we serve and bring the Hawaii communities together for a great family night.”

Sunset on the Beach films are currently scheduled as follows (subject to change):

>> May 11: “Moana”

>> June 15: “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”

>> July 6: “Mary Poppins Returns”

>> August 10: “Coco”

>> September 14: “Up”
