I just want to tip my cap to rookie City Councilwoman Heidi Tsuneyoshi for playing like a champ by standing up to our mayor and his cronies at the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (“HART should pay its own legal fees, councilwoman says,” Star-Advertiser, July 9). Trying to fleece the taxpayer to pay for HART’s attorney fee is insulting to the already over-taxed Hawaii resident. They screw up and we pay their legal fees.
I thank Tsuneyoshi for standing firm and asking the questions, because obviously somethings not right. And thanks to Lee Cataluna for her column, “Anger grows over disparity in what we’re told and what we see” (Star-Advertiser, July 10).
