All this time and effort to protect Mauna Kea is not the right thing to do at this time. Especially now because of the money being spent on security by county and state governments.
This money could be used for housing, welfare, medical care and education for all the people of Hawaii. A win-win situation would be to share the mountain for religious and scientific purposes.
Let this be lesson in going forward when having projects built on government land.
Let’s get the Office of Hawaiian Affairs or someone representing the protectors involved first, and not at the end.
