Shame! Hawaii Gas’ CEO Alicia Moy would like us to believe that gas is affordable and reliable and she is looking out for everyone by making sure that we have a “choice” (“Hawaii’s energy goals have room for renewable natural gas,” Star-Advertiser, Island Voices, Sept. 3).
The real deal she offers is sticking single-family homeowners with using climate-destroying natural gas to heat our water instead of truly affordable and climate-friendly solar.
Make no mistake, Moy is not looking out for your wallet. It is her company’s profits over the health and safety of our children’s future that she cares about.
Gas is cheaper for developers when they build. The homeowners are then stuck with eternal gas bills, instead of saving from solar hot water, and have no choice. And if that were not bad enough, gas water heaters do more than just heat water. They help cook the planet and steal our children’s future.
