Local temples honor the season with virtual bon dances

Moiliili Hongwanji member Ann Nakata joins others in a bon dance at Moiliili Hongwanji on June 27. Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Hongwanji members had to get creative to still carry out the age-old summer tradition of bon dance, including printing the names of members on lanterns, proper social distancing, and mask usage during the dances. Other temples have put performances online for members to do at home.
