Work continues on the new stadium in 1974. The price of the Halawa stadium has gone up more than $1 million from the original contract figure of $21.7 million, and no one seems to know when it will be finished. The cost increases is the result of 127 change orders authorized by the State. Many of these are minor - typical of any large construction project - but some are directly related to a dispute over the workability of the moveable stadium concept.
