Free L&L plate lunches for the first 100 at Kaiser’s pop-up coronavirus vaccine clinic Thursday
L&L Hawaii is donating a plate lunch to the first 100 people who receive their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at Kaiser Permanente’s pop-up clinic at the Filipino Community Center on Thursday.
Kaiser’s vaccination clinic takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at FilCom, 94-428 Mokuola St. in Waipahu. Both the two-dose Pfizer and one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available.
The first 100 to get a first dose will receive a coupon for a plate lunch from L&L Hawaii.
Kaiser says this is the seventh vaccine clinic hosted at the community center, with another scheduled for July 29. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred.
Recent Hawaii Department of Health data shows vaccinations in Waipahu are lagging behind other areas in the state, with only 35% to 45% of the zip code having completed vaccinations.
Kaiser Permanente has been focusing its efforts on delivering vaccines to underserved communities in Hawaii. A recent $400,000 grant will help five community health centers on three islands increase access to COVID-19 vaccines.
