Las Vegas Advisor: Miracle Mile Shops in Vegas now charges fees for parking

Add the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood to the list of garages now charging for parking in Las Vegas.

This one is significant, because it was one of the few Strip garages to remain fee-free before the pandemic, due to it being connected to the mall. The first hour is free, then it’s $12 for two to four hours and $15 for over four hours.

Paid parking is now in place at almost all MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment properties, along with the Cosmopolitan.

Caesars lobby makeover: Work has begun on a makeover of the main entrance to Caesars Palace. The cost of the project hasn’t been revealed, but the changes will include a raised dome ceiling, a 15-foot-tall statue of Caesar and redesigned casino and bar areas.

Completion is scheduled for December.

Oldest casino: Railroad Pass will celebrate its 90th anniversary on Aug. 10. The small casino located between Las Vegas and Boulder City is the oldest in Nevada.

Resorts World fountains: This isn’t an outside spectacle, a la Bellagio, but actual drinking fountains. Resorts World is one of the few casinos to have water fountains on the floor throughout the casino. The fountain stations also provide a refill hook-up for water bottles. You won’t find that in another casino.

Country residency to end: Performing together in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace since 2015, Reba McEntire, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn have announced the final dates of what’s being billed as “the longest-running country residency in Las Vegas.” The trio will appear for nine more shows in December.

Question: What was previously on the site that’s now Resorts World?

Answer: Resorts World is located in the space that used to be the Stardust. After the Stardust was razed, construction began on a casino, hotel and retail project called Echelon Place. It was never completed, but portions of the early construction were incorporated into the final Resorts World design.
