Off The News: Keeping fireworks in their place

It’s not a fully formed proposal, according to the governor’s office, but there have been few workable ideas for dealing with the fireworks conflict, so it’s worth at least hearing it out.

Gov. Josh Green has floated the notion of “fireworks zones” each county could establish where the incendiaries could be set off in more safety. Given the injuries and one fatality this year, that’s important. Whether this would keep scofflaws from setting off bombs close to home is doubtful, but merits a try?
