Alaska Airlines announces $1.9 billion acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines

Alaska Airlines will acquire Hawaiian Airlines in a $1.9 billion deal, the companies announced Sunday. The acquisition requires regulatory approvals and approval by Hawaiian Holdings shareholders.

Retired Lt. Commander Lou Conter, one of three remaining survivors of the USS Arizona, is given a special gate-side welcome by Hawaiian Airlines at the Daniel K.
