USA beach volleyball Olympian Taylor Crabb of Hawaii has tested positive for COVID while in Tokyo, according to NBC4 News in Boston.
USA Volleyball confirmed that an athlete on the men’s beach team tested positive.
According to the Boston report, Taylor’s brother, Trevor Crabb, also a professional beach volleyball player, described the situation as “terrible,” saying Taylor is “fine and healthy and should be allowed to play in my personal opinion.”
Taylor Crabb, 29, was scheduled to make his Olympic debut. He was supposed to have been paired with Jake Gibb, 45, USA Volleyball’s oldest ever Olympian, beach or indoor.
