A woman wanted by authorities for more than three years for allegedly performing cosmetic medical procedures without a license in Washington state is in custody here at the federal detention center.

Federal authorities arrested Ching Sedewa here Tuesday.

FDA officials charged Sedewa — also known as Hyeok Chun, Ching Caspillo and Conchita Sadiua Castillo — and two other women in March 2007 with using unlabeled or mislabeled drugs and medical devices on customers without a prescription.

Sedewa and Melinda Abel Gonzales performed cosmetic procedures in the Lakewood, Wash., home of a third defendant, Marilou P. Faust, according to a criminal complaint against them. The procedures included permanent eyeliner, permanent lip liner, laser blemish removal and breast enhancement.

The FDA said one woman became ill and experienced swelling after receiving injections to enhance her breasts, and suffered permanent scarring to her face from the laser procedure. Several women said the procedures were performed on them on a sofa in Faust’s living room in front of other customers.
