Kailua-Kona man ID’d as crash victim

Big Island police have identified a 21-year-old man killed Sunday night in a crash on Queen Kaahumanu Highway in Kailua-Kona.

Brian Anthony Margate of Kailua-Kona died when a Ford F-350 pickup truck towing a horse trailer crossed the center line and collided with his Volkswagen sedan, police said.

The crash happened at 7:06 p.m. at the 121-mile marker near Nani Kailua Drive.

 

Man charged in sex assault of 4 children

A Hilo man who pleaded guilty in February to federal child pornography charges has now been indicted by the state for sexual assault of a minor.

Daniel Guerrero Seguerre III faces 10 state charges: two counts of continuous sexual assault of a minor under the age of 14, and four counts each of first-degree sexual assault and third-degree sexual assault.

According to the Hawaii Tribune-Herald, the indictment charges Seguerre with abusing four children between 2006 and 2009.
