Network films Sheen for possible TV show

DALLAS » Charlie Sheen might soon have a home on Mark Cuban‘s HDNet television network.

Cameras already are rolling, although plenty of details still need to be worked out — such as what kind of show it might be. Cuban said yesterday that a decision on whether to make it a reality show, a talk show or something else will be up to Sheen.

Sheen has become a media phenomenon lately with offbeat rantings filled with lines that have become catch phrases, such as "tiger blood" and "a drug called Charlie Sheen." It’s all part of a campaign to disprove that he is a drug-using, reckless playboy.

The future of his hit CBS show "Two and a Half Men" is uncertain.

Cuban described Sheen as "somebody that everybody has a whole lot of interest in who is doing some interesting things, to say the least."

Jail was appropriate, singer Michael admits

LONDON » George Michael says he deserved to spend a month in jail last year for crashing his Range Rover while under the influence of drugs.

The former Wham! singer says it was karma: that after repeatedly breaking the law, he felt that he had "a bill to pay." That made accepting his punishment easier, Michael said, according to excerpts from an interview released yesterday by BBC radio.

Michael received an eight-week sentence for crashing his car into a London camera shop in July while high on prescription drugs and marijuana. The judge ordered Michael to serve four weeks of the sentence in prison and the rest on parole.

The musician also was fined $2,000 and lost his driver’s license for five years.
