Fire breaks out in highrise condo in Waiakea
A highrise fire at a Waiakea condominium caused about $25,000 damage to a 5th floor unit Thursday night, the Hawaii County Fire Department said.
Firefighters arrived on scene just before 8 p.m. and brought the kitchen fire under control within couple of minutes. The fire was extinguished at about 8:25 p.m.
The cause of the fire at a seven-story, 50-unit building at 1911 Kalanianaole Ave. is still under investigation.
