A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with four robberies of taxi cab drivers in Honolulu since May 17.

The four victims, all men, worked for various local taxi companies, police said. The robber used force or threatened his victims while displaying a weapon and demanded money, police said.

Police said they believe the man robbed his first victim, age unknown, at 9:24 p.m. on May 17; his second victim, 53, at 1:50 a.m. on June 18; the third, 55, at 6:20 p.m. on June 26; and fourth, 58, at 2:40 a.m. on June 27.

The suspect, of no local address, was arrested at 2 p.m. Tuesday at a Kapiolani Boulevard address in Kapahulu. He is being held at the Honolulu Police Department cellblock on Alapai Street pending charges on three counts of first-degree robbery and one-count of second-degree robbery. He was also arrested for violating the terms of his probation for an earlier offense.
