Kamehameha Schools’ preschool in Heeia, Waimanalo, Haleiwa, Waialae, Kahaluu and Kahuku on Oahu, in Anahola, Kauai, and in Hana, Maui, are closed today because of extreme weather and potential flooding.

School officials said they are evaluating whether other sites will be closed across the state.

Kamehameha will notify families when conditions allow for these preschools to reopen, they said.

All state Department of Education schools on the single school schedule are closed today for an unpaid teacher work day ahead of next week’s spring break. In Windward Oahu, the Ke Kula O Samuel M. Kamakau charter school is closed today due to weather conditions.
