BILLINGS, Mont. >> The stepmother of three children taken by their father to the Bahamas on a sailboat against custody orders has been extradited to Montana.
Forty-five-year-old Angela Bryant is to be arraigned in Gallatin County district court May 31. She was arrested in Hawaii in March on three counts of parental interference.
The Gallatin County prosecutor’s office says Bryant arrived in Montana Thursday and is being held in the county jail.
The children’s father, James Ray Bryant, has pleaded guilty as part of an agreement that calls for him to spend four years in prison.
The children were supposed to be returned to their mother in Belgrade last September under a custody plan. They were missing for more than seven months before authorities found them on the sailboat off the Florida coast.
