An Oahu grand jury indicted James K. Kaleopaa Jr. in connection with an Aiea home invasion robbery.

One of four men who pretended to be police officers to commit a home invasion robbery in Aiea last September is going to prison for at least 10 years.

A state judge sentenced James K. Kaleopaa Jr. to 20 years in prison Tuesday for robbery. Because Kaleopaa used a firearm to commit the robbery, Circuit Judge Randal O. Lee ordered Kaleopaa to spend at least 10 years of his sentence behind bars before he is eligible for parole. The Hawaii Paroling Authority can set a higher minimum.

Kaleopaa, 26, is the only one of the four robbers police has arrested and charged with the crime.

Kaleopaa pleaded no contest in March to assault, impersonating a law enforcement officer, burglary, five counts of kidnapping, four counts of robbery and using a firearm to commit the kidnapping and robbery.
