No Pacific-wide tsunami is expected from a 6.1 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Kamchatka, according to federal geologists.

A scientist at the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the quake generated “nothing of note.”

The Alaska Tsunami Warning Center said no seismic sea waves are expected for Alaska, the Pacific Northwest or California.

The quake had an epicenter 364 miles north-northeast of Petropavlovsk in the Russian Far East.
