Kamehameha Schools to expand farming in Punaluu

Kamehameha Schools announced today the opening of an initial phase of a 220-acre agricultural park for food production in Punaluu on Oahu’s windward coast.

The trust, which owns about 3,600 acres comprising nearly all of the Punaluu ahupuaa (mountain-to-sea land division), is offering plots from two acres to 10 acres for rent at the project dubbed Punaluʻu Ahupuaʻa Farms.

About 80 acres is presently farmed on the site, and Kamehameha Schools is expanding irrigation and roads to cover 220 acres over the next two years. About 30 acres of additional land is available for interested farmers.

Interested farmers can email ksinfo@ksbe.edu for more information.
