This photo taken on Saturday shows the most distant active breakout from Pu?u ????, and the closest breakout to P?hoa Village Road. This breakout was a short distance north of the cemetery and roughly 0.4 miles upslope of P?hoa Village Road.

The leading edge of the lava flow remain stalled Sunday morning but several breakouts continue to be active yet sluggish, according to the Hawaii County Civil Defense and Hawaii Volcano Observatory.

The active breakouts located above the cemetery below Apaa street and various areas upslope of the transfer station do not pose an immediate threat to residents.

The Hawaii Volcano Observatory said the closest active lava to Pahoa Village Road was located approximately .4 miles upslope of the road near the cemetery.

An aerial assessment indicated a new breakout that began over the past day from the June 27 vent is located about a mile northeast of Puu Oo.

Smoke conditions are moderate with light trade winds blowing smoke in the south-southeast direction. Officials advise residents downwind with respiratory problems to remain indoors as smoke conditions may increase in some areas.

The Hawaii County Civil Defense said Pahoa Village Road between Apaa Street and the Post Office Road remains closed. Access is restricted to area residents.

Businesses and commercial areas of Pahoa town is accessible through Pahoa Village Road at the intersection of Highways 130 and 132 and the Post Office Road.
