Hawaii residents are being urged to closely examine their credit card and debit card statements after a massive data-security breach of Target between Nov. 27 and Sunday. Target operates four stores in Hawaii

Target Corp. said Thursday its first store on Maui will hire 200 employees ahead of its March 2015 opening.

Target has two stores on Oahu, in Honolulu and Kapolei, and is building a third in Kailua.

It also has two locations on Hawaii island, in Hilo and Kona.

The big-box store’s arrival on the Valley Isle was first reported in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser in June 2012.

Target said it will hold job fairs about two months prior to the Maui store’s opening in Kahului. The retailer didn’t specify an exact opening date.

The retailer announced that prospective employees also may apply online at Target.com/careers or at in-store kiosks at all Target locations.

The store on Hookele Street will be part of the Puunene Shopping Center, measuring about 140,000 square feet. It will offer fresh produce, packaged meat and pre-packaged baked goods, as well as a Starbucks and a Target Pharmacy.

The Minneapolis-based retail giant has 1,921 stores in the United States and Canada.
