Police catch up to suspected car thief in Kaihi

A suspected car thief is now facing weapons and drugs charges after he was arrested Wednesday for a car he allegedly stole in December.

Police said the 40-year-old suspect was stopped in a stolen car in Waipahu on Dec. 23, but fled the scene.

He was arrested in Kalihi Wednesday for car theft, several weapons violations and third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug.

    I bet this is not the first car he jacked or the first charge he is facing. Prison as a deterrent is not truly a deterrent when they leave prison earlier than sentenced to start their criminal cycle all over again. Hawaii bad for business, good for criminals. How come li`dat?
