Police seek tips in pair of Kalihi store holdups

Security camera images show the men who robbed a Kalihi convenience store one of two times the store was held up within a week.
Honolulu police and CrimeStoppers are seeking the public’s help in finding suspects in two robberies at the same Kalihi convenience store in less than a week.
One of the robberies sent a 76-year-old woman to the hospital with serious injuries.
CrimeStoppers and police released security camera video of a robbery Monday that shows a suspect coming from behind and putting the woman, co-owner of the Y-7 Grocery and Liquor store, in a choke hold until she apparently passed out.
Three men entered the store at 1323 Gulick Ave.; one grabbed the woman and pulled her into an aisle while another man went behind the counter and took money from the register, CrimeStoppers said. The third man acted as a lookout, the CrimeStoppers bulletin said.
Police said a customer walking into the convenience store after the robbery found the woman bleeding on the floor at about 6 p.m.
Police said the woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries to her head.
The earlier robbery happened at about 9 a.m. Friday when two masked men entered the store. The men approached a 74-year-old man, the store’s co-owner, brandished weapons and demanded money.
One of the men opened the cash register, and both suspects ran away in an unknown direction, the CrimeStoppers release said.
Police said it’s not clear whether the suspects are the same in both robberies.

Local seniors are being attacked openly now? Outrageous Gun laws out here need to be changed to allow self-defense. HPD is a lousy force. Most of the overpaid officers can easily be replaced by better mainland officers. Everybody out here is on their own as far as self-defense goes.

I vote for local justice. No need to turn them in to HPD and have the judicial system let them go with a slap on the wrist. Find them, beat them up within an inch of their lives, and string ’em up. No cost to the tax paying public and Hawaii is less 2 cowards and undesirables. Where’s Charles Bronson when you need him.
I wonder if these are the same group of guys a few months back that were robbing and beating people up at bus stops in the Honolulu area?

What kind of parents grew these kids. Can’t even sympathize with the guilt and shame when their kids are caught and they will be caught. Kids probably grew up accepting this kind of violence form society they grew up in. Maximum sentence, no sympathy.

P.S. Some liberal judge will give him probation.
I hope that elderly woman will be all right. But that’s real trauma for her, and will be hard to get over. Even going grocery shopping will trigger flashbacks. I’d bet that someone in the area knows who these darling boys are — if they ever face a judge we’ll get to hear mom and tutu talk about what great kids they are. Just raised with no thought for anyone but themselves.
Morning news said she was back at work at the store. News crew was at the store, but, she didn’t want to go on camera. She just told him she’s OK, but, little bit sore head. Strong lady. One guy turned himself in, but, hopefully they catch the others soon. SHAME…

i amazed at how prolific thugs are with selfies posted on the internet and equally amazed at how quickly someone mines social media accounts and locates their photo.
police might look at the rest of the crew. they might be responsible for other robberies in the area.
