Police searching for suspect in American Savings Bank robbery

The suspect is describe as between 40 and 50 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 160-180 pounds, with black eyes, a black long sleeve jacket, a black undershirt, black surfshorts, a black baseball cap and sunglasses.
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking the public’s help locating a man wanted in the robbery of the American Savings Bank at 1209 Piikoi Street, next to the Beretania Street Safeway, Thursday afternoon.
The suspect is describe as between 40 and 50 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 160-180 pounds, with black eyes, a black long sleeve jacket, a black undershirt, black surf shorts, a black baseball cap and sunglasses.
The robbery involved a man who entered the bank at 1:25 p.m., approached a teller and handed a note demanding money. He fled in a black Toyota Sienna taxi cab.
Those with with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on their cellular phones. The public may also send anonymous web tips to www.honolulucrimestoppers.org.

A taxi? Really!? That is a first.
Now, HPD going question all the taxi drivers of a black Toyota Sienna.
The culprit obviously has contempt for HPD. Where is the FBI. This is a federal crime.
You know, you could be right — seeing how close this was to HPD headquarters.

He was so courteous standing line and waiting for his turn to rob the bank….must be the holiday season getting funds to buy presents.

How come they have not caught up with “waddle boy”. Anybody that walks with a waddle would easily be known by a lot of people.

Having worked as a RN, I have to say that his legs are bizarre and not necessarily due to being hairy in patches? It looks like he has some kind of concurrent pathology such as severe varicosities, cellulitis from drug use, etc. Should make it easier to identify him, as maybe he has seen a MD for the condition in the past

Everything about the robber is black: “…black eyes, a black long sleeve jacket, a black undershirt, black surf shorts, a black baseball cap…” He even fled in a black taxi. If the cops catch ’em dey bettah not shoot ’em, ’cause “Black Lives Matter”!
How could this guy not get turned in, his mug is clearly visible and he is distinctive looking. If all these armed robberies and bank robberies are being committed by the same characters, they should get life due to the consecutive sentences.
